The Road Trip 2010 saw 10 Nigerian photographers travelling from Lagos through Cotonou, Lomé, Accra, Abidjan, Bamako and finally arriving in Dakar. The trip was anchored to the Biennale of Contemporary African Art of Dakar (Dak’Art 2010) which took place from the 7th of May to the 7th of June 2010. The IB team began the journey on the 23rd of April and returned to Lagos on the 18th of May 2010. Confronted with all the insufficiencies and unforeseen challenges that came with the spontaneous nature of the 2009 trip, the 2010 edition provided the opportunity to elaborate on the process. There was more emphasis on the journey and its processes than the final destination. Up to 2 days was spent in each major city to work with two indigenous photographers. That way, the Organization and participating artists were able to create tangible networks, while discovering the country through.
